The Maiden who Was Once So Fair

Sitting by the roadside,
she watched the people trudge along.
Watching the road wide,
The eyes that looked like a forgotten song.

Sad eyes of the past,
Tired of the journey they had travelled.
Ventured to lands so vast
That laid her mysteries unravelled.

Alone under the sun,
Lonely and unhappy she seemed to be.
Hard struggles she had won.
Her spirit had drowned in the cold sea.

The light began to fade,
Hitting the walls, the wind whistled.
She sat there, strayed.
Autumn leaves near her feet, rustled.

She got onto her feet.
The wind blew her dark and long hair,
What fate she would meet,
She knew not, the maiden who was once so Fair.
